16TH ANNUAL CPO GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Hampton Roads Chief Petty Officers Association, (HRCPOA) is sponsoring the Sixteenth Annual Chief Petty Officer Golf Tournament on the 13th of June, 2008 at Eagle Haven Golf Course on Naval Amphibious Base, Little Creek. This tournament is open to all Active, Reserve and Retired Chief Petty Officers and their sponsored guests.
Since 2000 the HRCPOA has donated 100% of all profits from this event, to the Chief Petty Officer Scholarship Fund (CPOSF). This is an all volunteer event which was able to donate just at $11,000.00 last year.
Sign-ups will be at The Anchor Station Chief Petty Officers Club, located in BLDG E-13 at Naval Station Norfolk on 14 March 08 beginning at 0800. The cost is $85.00 per person. Names, contact information, shirt Size and payment are required at Sign-up. The entry fee covers cart and green fees, free food and beverage at the PARTEE and After Banquet. Each golfer will receive, a monogrammed golf shirt and ball cap plus various sponsor donated gifts. Trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams along with Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin. Bayside Harley Davidson is again graciously providing a Harley Davidson for one of four Hole in One prizes. The model will be determined by Bayside. Everybody leaves with a prize. The winning of prizes are totally random so everyone walks away a winner.
The annual PARTEE will be held 12 June at the NAB Little Creek Chief Petty Officers Club starting at 1600. Goody bags containing shirts, hats and other sponsor gifts will be distributed at this time. Games, free food and beverage are provided.
The after banquet will be held at the golf course immediately following the conclusion of play. At that time all prize drawings will be held and the award of this years check to either MCPON Walker, MCPON Bushey or MCPON Plackett, on behalf the Chief Petty Officers Scholarship Fund.
New Sponsorship's from area merchants and companies are still available. Major Sponsorship levels are available for $5,000.00 and $2,500.00. These levels entitle you to a complimentary foursome in the tournament, a plaque recognizing your contribution and special recognition by the Master Chief Petty Officers of the Navy associated with the CPOSF. A $1000.00 contribution will entitle you a complimentary twosome in the tournament and a plaque. Individual Hole Sponsorship is available at $250.00 with advertising on a single tee box. All sponsors will receive recognition in all written materials and will have the opportunity to advertise at the pre-tournament "PARTEE", the tournament and cookout venue.
